Bikaner: 741 Criminals Held In Raids In 4 Bikaner Range Dists | Jaipur News

Jaipur: In a crackdown on narcotics smuggling and various other crimes, at least 3,400 policemen of Bikaner range comprising Churu, Bikaner, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh districts raided nearly 1,229 places and arrested 741 persons. Out of them, 89 persons were arrested in narcotics smuggling.
Teams in the districts including Churu, Bikaner, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh started the crackdown at 4am in these districts.
“Since Hanumangarh and Sriganganagar districts had witnessed narcotics smuggling in the past, our main focus was crackdown on narcotics smuggling. Apart from this, we have also arrested persons for violation of Arms Act, Excise Act and also those against whom warrants were issued,” said Om Prakash, inspector general of police, Bikaner range.
The IG monitored the raids from the control room in Bikaner and directed various teams during the operation. “The arrests of 89 accused involved in narcotics smuggling will fetch us more arrests in the coming days,” he added. Churu police also seized Rs 10 lakh from a vehicle suspected to be involved in narcotics smuggling. “At Bikaner and Sriganganagar districts, which are close to the international border connecting Pakistan, we used our dog squad,” Prakash added.
“We have lodged 80 FIRs under NDPS Act and arrested 89 persons involved in narcotics smuggling and seized 22 vehicles. Huge quantity of narcotics and psychotropic substance was seized from various districts,” he added.
