Bill: Rally Held In Sikar Against Docs’ Strike | Jaipur News
Jaipur: With the strike by doctors of private hospitals to protest the Right to Health (RTH) Bill continuing for nearly a fortnight now, social activists and the general public have criticised healthcare professionals who have been staying away from the treatment centres.
On Saturday, a rally was organised by the residents of Sikar to express their disapproval of the doctors’ strike and in support of the RTH. Participants of the rally demanded that the RTH Bill be implemented in the state at the earliest. Now, social activists are also threatening to organise similar rallies across the state against the striking doctors. Patients across the state have been suffering because of the strike by the doctors of private hospitals that started on March 20.
“The rally in Sikar displayed how upset the general public are about the doctors’ action. This indicates that the people in other districts are also ready to take out such rallies,” said Chhaya Pachauli, state coordinator of Jan Swasthya Abhiyan (JSA), an umbrella organization of health rights activists.
