Bisalpur: Bisalpur System To Be Closed Briefly This Mth | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The Bisalpur water supply system is going to be briefly shut down in the second half of this month. Officials of Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) would finalise the date by July 14.
“We need to shut down the system for the trial run of the Bisalpur II project. At the same time, we are going to repair a few cracks on the pipeline,” said a PHED official. This would be the fourth shutdown of Bisalpur system in this year.
Officials said that fresh cracks developed on the pipeline around 5 km from Saurajpura on Sunday evening. These cracks, however, would not lead to wastage of water and can be rectified during the shutdown, they said.
“We have to shut down the system during the trial run of the newly constructed pumphouse at Renwal. We will repair the cracks and carry out a few other maintenance jobs during the shutdown,” said a senior official.
PHED confirmed that water supply was not affected anywhere following the cracks detected on Sunday evening.
