Jaipur: Rajsamand MP and BJP’s state general secretary Diya Kumari said on Monday that women from across the state will march under the banner of BJP Mahila Morcha to the chief minister’s residence (CMR) on July 5. At a press conference held at the state BJP office here, Kumari said, “In the last four-and-a-half years, the state has become number one in crimes against women. Such cases have increased by 46%, which is a matter of shame.”
Accusing CM Gehlot of defending those accused of rape, Kumari said that the CM’s statement that death penalty should not be given to rapists, because the rapists would then start killing the victims, was proof of his anti-women mentality. TNN
