Bjp: Bjp-ruled States On Top In Graft; They’re Hungry Wolves: Cm | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday criticized BJP for the growing corruption in states governed by the saffron party, describing them as “hungry wolves” who benefit from such situations.
Addressing reporters after paying homage to ex-PM Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary at the state Congress headquarters, Gehlot asserted that corruption has significantly increased in BJP-ruled states. Industrialists and traders would confirm this, he said.
“There is a lot of corruption in BJP-ruled states. It seems they are akin to hungry wolves, always seeking to satisfy their hunger for more. So one can only wonder what the situation is like for a hungry wolf,” said Gehlot.
The CM emphasized that BJP should address the corruption allegations against Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who he said has been implicated in the Sanjeevani Credit Cooperative Society scam by police investigations. Gehlot suggested BJP pass a resolution to remove Shekhawat from the Union council of ministers due to his “proven corruption”.
“Rajasthan ranks second, after Maharashtra, in terms of conducting raids on corrupt officials and cases related to disproportionate assets. We will not tolerate any interruptions when discussing the topic of corruption. We intend to uncover the truth about your whereabouts and the role you played as the Opposition over the past five years. Their (BJP’s) resolution document is filled with falsehoods, and they are feeling nervous,” said Gehlot.
The CM also spoke of BJP’s defeat in the Karnataka polls despite PM Modi and Union minister Amit Shah extensively campaigning. He said BJP had gained power by exploiting religious issues only to face exposure later.
