BJP fires salvos at Raj govt over crimes against women | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: BJP has intensified its attacks on the Ashok Gehlot government over crimes against women. The party held two press conferences on Monday-at the BJP national headquarters in Delhi and the state headquarters in Jaipur-sharing details of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data and claiming that Rajasthan ranked number one in crime against women, Dalits and SCs.

In Delhi, the presser was addressed by BJP’s Rajasthan in-charge, Arun Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Kirori Lal Meena, Tonk-Sawai Madhopur MP Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria, and Ajmer MP Bhagirath Chaudhary.
Singh told media persons that the Gehlot government has reduced one of the most disciplined states into a lawless one. Every day, 17-18 rape incidents are occurring in Rajasthan, but Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, or any other Congress leader did not meet the victims,” said Singh. He informed the media that Rajasthan BJP will hold a major protest in Jaipur on Tuesday.

Sharing the data on crime against women in the state, he said, “On July 28, 21 incidents took place in the state in 24 hours. In Bundi’s Lakheri village, a woman was killed after culprits entered her house; a youth was murdered in Pali; a 7-day-old dead body was found in Karauli; and a man’s throat was slit with a knife in Jaipur’s Sadar area. Such crimes have become order of the day.”
Meena accused the Gehlot government ministers of being insensitive and irresponsible towards cases of rape and murder. “The most indecent statement ever made in the state assembly was by UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal. He said that rapes are being committed in the state because Rajasthan is a state of men. If this is the mentality, then one can imagine that rapes are never going to stop in the state under the Congress rule,” said Meena.
He termed the state as the most corrupt in the country. “Give me any instances in the country where Rs 2.31 crore and gold were found in a government secretariat. It happened in Rajasthan,” said Meena.
Back in Jaipur, leader of the opposition, Rajendra Rathore also targeted the Congress government on all fronts. He said that BJP is committed to exposing lies of the Congress, and the people of the state will teach them a lesson in the assembly polls.”
