BJP returns to power in Rajasthan by winning 115 seats | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The BJP secured victory in Rajasthan, winning 115 out of the 199 assembly seats, as election results were announced on Sunday.
The Congress, aiming to break the trend of the incumbent being voted out every five years, managed to bag 68 seats. The final result for one seat was awaited, with the Congress leading by a narrow margin.
Key results included former Chief Minister Vasundhara Rajewinning from the Jhalrapatan seat.BJP candidates such as Diya Kumari,Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, and others secured victories in their respective constituencies. Congress leaders Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot, and Shanti Dhariwal were among those who emerged victorious.
While BJP MPs such as Diya Kumari and Baba Balak Nath won their seats, others like Narendra Kumar, Bhagirath Choudhary, and Devji Patel faced defeat. Hanuman Beniwal of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) won from Khinwsar, and Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) candidates secured victories in several constituencies.
Independents, including Yoonus Khan, Ritu Banawat, and Ganeshraj Bansal, also emerged victorious in different constituencies. The overall results were unexpected, according to Chief Minister Gehlot, who tendered his resignation to the governor. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, a senior BJP leader, commented that the people of Rajasthan had come out of the “spell of the magician,” alluding to Gehlot’s background in a family of magicians.
