BJP’s Dholpur leader moves camp to BSP | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Not only the Congress and the BJP, the BSP is also flexing its muscles in the build-up to state assembly elections. Ritesh Sharma, former chairman of the Dholpur municipal council, on Tuesday quit the BJP and joined the BSP. Sharma is the nephew of veteran Congress leader and former MLA Banwari Lal Sharma.
Sharma along with hundreds of followers joined the BSP in the presence of the party’s central coordinator and chief election in-charge for Rajasthan, Ramji Gautam, said BSP state president Bhagwan Singh Baba.
Bharatpur division in east Rajasthan has been a stronghold of the BSP. The party was able to win six seats here in the last assembly polls, but all of its winning candidates switched over to the Congress. The BSP challenged this in court but the matter is still sub judice.
