Blacklisted Agency Given Job Of Garbage Collection | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Officials of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Greater were in for a shock after finding out that the company, which they have appointed for door-to-door garbage collection, has outsourced another agency which had been blacklisted by the civic body two years ago. Under such circumstances officials are taking legal opinions whether such an outsource process is legal or illegal.
“For the door-to-door garbage collection the civic body had appointed a private firm. As per the agreement the private firm is free to outsource any agency. In accordance with the agreement this private firm had outsourced an agency for software related jobs, but two years back the civic body had terminated the contract of this same agency, which was appointed as an independent engineer. Even the agency had been blacklisted,” said a senior JMC-Greater official, who did not want to be named.
In May 2021, the civic body had terminated the contract of the private firm named, BVG India Private Limited, for door-to-door garbage collection. With BVG, the civic body also terminated the contract of another company that was appointed as the independent engineer (IE) to monitor and carry out surveys related to garbage collections.
“The IE was not only terminated but was also blacklisted. Now, the company made an entry from the backdoor, as an outsourced agency of the company that had been appointed by the civic body recently,” the official added.
When TOI contacted Puneet Karnawat, the deputy mayor of JMC-Greater, he said there have been several allegations against the company the civic body had appointed. The civic body is scrutinising the allegations, he said.
“This is the newest allegation that this company has outsourced a blacklisted agency. We are looking into the issue as well,” added Karnawat.
A section of officials had claimed that there is no way that JMC-Greater can take any steps. “Blacklisted does not mean that the company is fake. If someone else is outsourcing the same company, how can JMC-Greater stop it. The only point is whether the blacklisted company can be outsourced by a third party to work on a project of JMC-Greater,” an official said.
