Amber Woman Gets Her Drunk & Abusive Son Killed, Arrested | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Jaipur police on Sunday arrested a 52-year-old woman for allegedly getting her 35-year-old son killed because he regularly abused his family members and tenants after getting drunk.
Amber ACP Chandra Singh Rawat said police arrested Prem Devi for the murder of her son Kamlesh Atal.
“I was patrolling on Saturday night when I received the news of a body lying on Jaipur-Delhi highway. After examination, the death did not appear to be an accident case,” Rawat said.
“The probe indicated someone first killed the man and disposed of his body on the highway to give it the look of an accident. But there was nothing to indicate he died in an accident,” Rawat added.
After identifying the man, police got in touch with his family and asked them if they wanted to file a report, but they insisted that it was just an accident.
“When we quizzed the family, we found that Atal’s mother with the help of a few others had strangled him with a blanket and dumped the body on the highway,” Rawat said.
During interrogation, police learnt that Atal allegedly harassed his family members and tenants regularly.
His mother often reprimanded him to stop drinking and not to trouble the family, but he did not mend his ways. “We found that the deceased did not spare even his own kids,” Rawat said.
Police found that Devi had hatched a conspiracy to kill her son with the help of her tenants. “She wanted to eliminate him so that the insurance amount could be used to help raise his daughter and son,” Rawat added.
He said the accused first got Atal heavily drunk and then put a blanket on his face. He died of asphyxiation, police added.
The accused then drove a pickup van over his body. Police have also detained other suspects in the case. “Atal’s wife died by suicide around two years ago. He worked as an electrician and developed some serious injuries after he fell down recently,” Rawat claimed.
