Raj To Regulate Fees Of Private Institutes | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The state government is set to regulate the fees of private institutions under the proposed Rajasthan State Education Regulatory (RSER) Bill 2023. Cabinet minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas had on Monday informed of bringing a law to improve the quality of education in institutes.
TOI has a draft of the Bill, which has provisions for schools, colleges and coaching institutes with a detailed composition of the regulatory body.
The bill says the authority will ensure that schools follow the Right to Education Act 2009. “Following the RTE Act in its true spirit means schools have adequate infrastructure, teachers and other resources. The Act is in place in the state, but barring a few of its provisions, most of it is not being followed by the schools,” said an official. Dealing with the problem of parents being forced to pay fees quarterly, the Bill has a provision that says fees are to be charged on monthly basis.
The trend of ghost schools has also come under attack in the Bill. It has empowered the authority to check the schools running in connivance with the coaching centres.
It has also remedies for teaching staff by ensuring that a school pays timely salaries and other allowances. TNN
