Brahma: Rights Panel Notice To Brahma Temple Admin Over Woes Of Divyang | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission (RSHRC) has issued a notice to the management of the Brahma temple in Pushkar over the difficulties specially abled devotees face in getting a darshan of the deity. RSHRC has asked the temple management to reply by March 31.
The human rights panel issued the notice after a complaint was filed by Hemant Bhai Goyal, national vice-president of Divyang Adhikar Mahasangh (DAM). In the past, former President Ram Nath Kovind and Governor Kalraj Mishra were unable to climb the steep stairs of the temple due to knee problems.
The Ajmer district administration has decided to build a lift alongside the 17 steps that lead to the main entrance of the temple. District collector Anshdeep had earlier said that permission has been received from the department of archaeology to build a lift at the Brahma temple for the convenience of specially abled devotees.
“We have received permission from the state’s department of archaeology to build a lift outside the temple premises, for which we do not need the permission of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI),” said Anshdeep.
“We will build the lift outside (the temple) and connect it with a platform that will lead to the main entrance of the temple. This will help specially abled devotees to get a darshan of the deity,” added the district collector of Ajmer.
