“On the basis of the information from an intelligence agency of BSF, on the night of January 14, two Punjab-based drug smugglers were caught on the Indo-Pakistan international border in Sri Ganganagar sector. Three bags dropped by drone from Pakistan were recovered, in which six suspected heroin packets were found, whose total weight including packing material is about six kilograms,” said a statement released by BSF on Sunday.
The statement further mentioned that BSF troops fired on the drone and used ILU bombs.
The search for two other smugglers who came from Punjab in a car is still on, although the car number PB 22U 6262 Punjab has been recovered, added officials.
Officials said that they recovered the suspected heroin and car.
The arrested smugglers will be handed over to the agency concerned for investigation.
