Private bus strike on October 31
Private bus operators in Thiruvananthapuram, India, are planning to go on strike on October 31, demanding a revision in student concession rates among other demands. If their demands are not met, they have threatened an indefinite strike from November 21. The operators claim that the government has not fulfilled its promise to revise concession rates when bus fares were increased in May 2022. They are also unhappy with decisions made by the government without consulting them, such as the mandatory seat belts for drivers and CCTV cameras in buses.
