Jaipur: Unrest prevailed among those involved in criminal activities including narcotics, arms, liquor and other smuggling as various ranges of Rajasthan police and its districts organised massive raids since Saturday. Till Sunday police from various districts managed to arrest 9,122 persons involved in various crimes including those who had reward on their head and were absconding for a long time.

On the instructions of DGP Umesh Mishra, special action was initiated by the police teams on Saturday and Sunday to nab active criminals and anti-social elements. “We have managed to make arrests of 9,122 persons involved in various crimes. The campaign was titled ‘area domination action’. Following the arrests larger quantity of drugs, weapons, vehicles and materials involved in illegal mining, illegal explosives etc were seized,” said Mishra on Sunday. “At least 4,753 teams comprising 18, 387 police officers and employees raided nearly 15,972 places across the state,” said Dinesh MN, ADG (Crime) who supervised the campaign. tnn
