Camps For Indira Smartphone Yojana From Aug 10 | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The department of Information Technology and communication (DoIT&C) on Wednesday issued directions to all the districts that “camps will be organised from August 10 for the first phase of the distribution of smartphones and data sim cards to 40 lakh women beneficiaries in the state”.

The scheme will be implemented by the name – Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojana, said secretary of the department Anandhi in a letter issued to all the districts.
According to the guidelines of the scheme, the benefits of the scheme will be provided to women head of 40 lakh Chiranjeevi families through direct benefit transfer (DBT). Under the scheme, sim cards along with smartphones and data connectivity will be made available to the beneficiaries through the TRAI-authorised telecom service providers (TSPs) in the state (Jio, Airtel, Vodafone and BSNL) at the district and block-level camps.

The beneficiaries for the first phase include female students (Class 9 to 12) of government schools, female students studying at the institutes of higher education (college/ITI/polytechnic), widow/single woman pensioners, women head of families completing 100 days of work under MGNREGA (2022-2023), women head of families completing 50 days of work under the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme.
The list of the beneficiaries will be made available by the DoIT&C. If the name of any eligible candidate is not found on the list issued by the department, her registration should be done on the Rajasthan Sampark portal by dialing 181, it stated.
Through the smartphones, the beneficiaries will be made aware of the welfare schemes run by the state government for the poor and weaker sections, security of female students, employment opportunities and schemes for students and widows.
