Centre Asks Raj To Inspect All Amrit Sarovars By June 10 | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The ministry of rural development, government of India, has issued an order to the Rajasthan government to conduct a site inspection of all the lakes that have been developed under Mission Amrit Sarovar in the state. The report of the inspection has to be uploaded on the centre’s portal for assessment.
According to an official of the state’s rural development department, districts have been allotted to officers of the department to conduct inspections and they have been asked to complete the inspections by June 10.
The check list of the inspection includes whether sarovar distance/location from community has been kept in mind while deciding the site; whether the sarovar inlet channels are made/treated properly; whether the sarovar outlet channels are made/treated properly; if catchment treatment measures have been identified; and if catchment treatment measures have been implemented.
A few other assessments are: have silt traps been installed; are masonry structures provided as required; is adequate embankment slope provided; are berms provided along the embankment for better stability; is the bund treatment done around the structure ensuring layer-wise compaction; have additional requirements like encroachments, treatment of grey water been identified; is area of the sarovar and water-holding capacity (depth of sarovar) as per the guideline.
It also included: have native trees been planted around the Sarovar; is the flag hoisting stand-post constructed; is the signage board installed with standard size and logo. As per the observation of visiting team is community mobilised for sarovar; is community able to use the sarovar for the celebration of social event.
