Change Of Guard In Raj Govt After Cong’s Raipur Convention: Bairwa | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: State SC commission chairman Khiladi Lal Bairwa, considered an MLA of the Pilot camp, said on Thursday that leadership of the state government would change before the Assembly elections and that it could happen any time after the Raipur convention of Congress scheduled later this month.
Speaking to the media outside former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot’s Civil Lines residence, Bairwa said the party has not yet closed the case of indiscipline by three senior Congress leaders (ministers Shanti Dhariwal and Mahesh Joshi, and RTDC chairman Dharmendra Rathore) who were served notices for the aborted CLP meeting on September 25 last.
Bairwa claimed that a decision from the high command about Rajasthan affairs is expected any time after the 85th Congress convention in Raipur to be held from February 24 to 26.
Describing both CM Ashok Gehlot and Pilot as assets of the party, Bairwa described Gehlot as the party’s “fixed deposit” and Pilot as its “working capital”.
“Having been a commerce student, I know the importance of working capital. The party workers want Pilot to remain in the system as working capital while Gehlot is an experienced leader, and the party high command should take advantage of his experience,” he said.
Pilot had on Wednesday raised questions on the delay in action against the three leaders who were issued notices for alleged indiscipline. In an interview with PTI, he demanded a party-level inquiry into allegations that MLAs were pressurised to boycott the CLP meeting and submit resignations to the Speaker.
Pilot said the MLAs’ resignations were not accepted because they were not submitted out of their own free will.
“If they were not given out of their own free will, then whose pressure were they under? Was there any threat, inducement or pressure? This is a subject that needs to be probed by the party,” said Pilot in an interview with the news agency PTI.
Pointing out that there is “a lot of delay in action being taken (by Congress high command) against the leaders” accused of indiscipline, Pilot said, “If we have to break the trend of the state changing the government every five years, then we will have to take a quick decision on matters related to Congress.”
