Changes In Co-op Bill To Curb Fraud In Land Allotment: Min | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Cooperative minister Udailal Anjana said that the Rajasthan Cooperative Society (Amendment) Bill 2023 will strengthen the cooperative movement while replying to discussions on the Bill in the assembly on Wednesday.
The House passed the Bill by voice vote. “It will provide relief to the common man and fraud in the allotment of plots by housing cooperative societies will be stopped,” said Anjana.
He further informed that unauthorised leases are issued to the public by some housing cooperative societies leading to mistrust in the societies. “To prevent the practice to stop the unauthorised leases the amendment was required in the Rajasthan Cooperative Societies Act-2001. Under the new provisions, the registrar will now be able to search and acquire the records and property of the society without the permission of the court,” said Anjana.
Counting on the direct benefits of the amendment, “It will save time spent in the court and ensure speedy justice to the common man. In the amendment, sub-section 3 of Section-63 of the Act has been removed.”
Reacting to the bill, leader of the opposition Rajendra Rathore said, “The government is taking over the powers of the court given in the 2001 Act. In the bill, the government has given unlimited rights to its authorized officers and registrars who will end up harassing the common man.”
Rathore argued that the government has reduced the powers of the court to save time or speedy justice is unjustifiable. “The government could have fixed the time frame in disposing of the cases,” said Rathore, who suggested to the government that lakhs of people of the state have lost their hard-earned money in credit societies.
“Has the government ever tried to give justice to the people who have lost their money. The answer is no,” said Rathore.
