Chief Justice Masih Will Take Oath On Tuesday | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Newly appointed Chief Justice of the Rajasthan high court, Justice Augustine George Masih, will be administered the oath of office by Governor Kalraj Mishra here on May 30, said an official release. The oath ceremony will be held at Raj Bhavan at 4.30pm.
The Law and Justice department of the centre on Friday announced Masih’s appointment to the post of chief justice in Rajasthan following the SC collegium recommending his name for the post on April 19.
Justice Masih is a senior judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, appointed at the court as a judge on July 10, 2008.
Born on March 12, 1963, in Ropar, Punjab, he did his schooling at St Mary’s Convent School at Kasauli (Himachal Pradesh) and Saifuddin Tahir High School at Aligarh. He then graduated in Science (Honours) and LLB from Aligarh Muslim University.
The vacancy in Rajasthan High Court arose after the elevation of Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal to the Supreme Court in February this year.
