City polo lovers enjoy a thrilling match and hi-tea at polo grounds | Jaipur News

Jaipur has so much to offer at the moment. Polo matches one after the other and people coming down to the pink city specially to watch the matches is enough to prove it. Saturday afternoon was one of the familiar scenes to witness on the polo ground. It was Raghu Sinha Mala Mathur Memorial Cup, for which the grounds of Rajasthan Polo Club, witnessed a thrilling match.

The large number of visitors enjoyed the fast moving game in which the home team, RPC won against Malarpan by 6 goals to 4. For the RPC, Major Mrityunjay Singh and Pablo Jaureteche both scored 2 goals each while Ashvini Sharma and Lokendra Singh Dhirawat scored 1 goal each. For Malarpan, while Sawai Padmanabh Singh scored 2 goals, Abhimanyu Pathak and Anaya Shah scored 1 goal each. The trophy and prizes were given away by the chief guest, Major General RS Godara. Major Mritunjay of RPC also won the Most Valuable Player award.

The promoter of the event, Sudhir Mathur said, “It was indeed a great pleasure to see so many of my friends, family members, well-wishers and polo aficionados at the match today. It’s an exhibition match which we started two years ago in the memory of my uncle late Raghu Sinha and my sister late Mala Mathur as both of them were very fond of polo.”

Later guests were seen congratulating the players of the winning team and getting clicked with the players, especially the young player Padmanabh Singh, who is from the erstwhile royal family of the city. It was followed by high tea with city glitterati enjoying the pleasant warm afternoon.
