Civic: Civic Work Hit In Mayor-official Clash | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Following the clash between Munesh Gurjar, the mayor of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Heritage and additional commissioner Rajendra Verma, daily civic works of the municipal corporation have come to a halt.
Councillors alleged that important civic works like daily garbage cleaning, sewerage and drainage cleaning during monsoon, and maintenance of street lights was not being done.
“If the mayor and the some corporators are not doing their jobs , then obviously all works of the civic body will be affected. We had earlier given them time to sort out the problem till July 2. On Monday, the opposition councillors will sit together and decide on next course of action,” said Subhash Vyas, councillor of ward 34.
Even a section of Congress councillors have expressed their grievances. Speaking to TOI, a senior Congress councillor said that the government should suspend the mayor just as it had done with the JMC -Greater mayor in the past. tnn
