Strong Tremors Felt In Raj, No Reports Of Any Damage | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Strong tremors that lasted for a few seconds were felt in several cities of north India including Rajasthan as an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 on the Richter scale was experienced in Hindkush region of Afghanistan on Tuesday evening.
People came out of their offices and residential buildings in various parts of Alwar, Bharatpur, Dausa, Jaipur and other cities of the state at 10.20 pm when the tremors were felt. “I felt the tremors and saw people in my colony come out of their houses. I saw them screaming and scared. It was felt for at least 10 seconds,” said Dilip Singh, a resident of Shilp colony in Jhotwara of Jaipur.
At some of the places including some restaurants in Jaipur people were taken aback and came down on the ground when the tremors were felt. Soon after they called up their relatives and friends to enquire about their well being and if they too experienced tremors.
According to a report from Jaipur Met office the intensity of the earthquake was measured at 6.5 on the Richter scale with a depth of 156 kms in the Hindkush region of Afghanistan.
Videos shared on social media show people gathered on the streets and people reported objects falling inside their homes.
