Class 12 Girl: Class 12 Girl Tries To Kill Self, Kin Blames Social Media Comments | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The city’s Pratap Nagar police is investigating a case after a 16-year-old girl allegedly tried to commit suicide after her classmates posted comments about her on social media.
The Pratap Nagar police SHO Zaheer Abbas said that the matter came to light when the father of the class-12 girl approached the police on November 1 with a complaint that her daughter tried to end her life by hanging from a rope.The family took her to the hospital where she was later discharged from the hospital.
“The family has claimed that she was upset because a few of her classmates had allegedly posted some comments against her. However, during the primary investigation we have not been able to ascertain or find those comments, but the investigation is still underway,” Abbas said.
Police said that the girl’s condition is out of danger, and the matter remains under investigation.
A senior official, on the condition of anonymity, said that the police sought details of the social media information that allegedly prompted the girl to try to end her life.
“We will speak to the family about the matter to see if they could share those comments made on social media,” said the official.
