Class X Student Hangs Self Hours Before Exam | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: A Class X student (16) ended his life by hanging from a ceiling fan at his rented accommodation under Nihalganj police station area of Dholpur late on Wednesday evening. The suicide came some hours prior to his board examination. The deceased has been identified as Pushpendra Rajput.
The matter came to light when the landlord of the boy knocked at the door of his room and got no response. The landlord and neighbours intimated the police. A team of senior officers reached at the spot and unlocked the gate and brought down Rajput who was declared dead.
According to police, Rajput was living at a rented accommodation at Madhavanand Colony in Dholpur.
“He was to appear for his first paper of Class X Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) examination on Thursday. He had dinner and interacted with the landlord and landlady and shown no signs of taking this kind of step prior to his examination,” said a senior police officer of Nihalganj police station area of Dholpur on Thursday.
Police added that the boy was a resident of Rehsena village in Dholpur district and returned to his rented accommodation some days ago. “It was also found that the boy had taken a rope which he said needed to dry the cloths at the terrace of his rented house and Rs 3,000 from his parents,” the officer added.
Police have found a suicide note from the room in which the boy was living. In the suicide note the boy has only apologised for his mistake but did not mention the reason why he took the extreme step.
In the evening the body of the boy was handed over to the family members after the post-mortem.
