Jaipur: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday directed the administration and police to ensure adequate security arrangements in religious places and surrounding areas in future. Terming the incident at Khatu Shyamji Temple in Sikar as sad and unfortunate, he said religious places of Rajasthan are centres of faith in the whole country. He added that apart from annual festivals and fairs in religious places, lakhs of devotees from different states visit Rajasthan every month.
Gehlot was addressing a meeting organised at the chief minister’s residence on Wednesday regarding security management in fairs and festivals. He said by making strong corridors for pedestrians in religious places, their safety should be ensured. Guidelines should be given to the committees of religious places to ensure proper arrangements.
Gehlot said all arrangements should be discussed by the district administration by holding regular meetings with religious trust officials and religious leaders, so that the possibility of any kind of accident could be avoided.
