Jaipur: In a significant move to support research scholars in state government colleges and universities, chief minister Ashok Gehlot has approved a financial proposal of Rs 62.30 crore. Approximately 6,000 research scholars will benefit from this initiative, aimed at encouraging academic pursuits and facilitating their participation in various academic events.
Under this scheme, around 2,200 research scholars from government colleges and universities, who already receive financial aid from the state government, will be granted a monthly fellowship of Rs 20,000. A sum of Rs 52.80 crore has been allocated for this purpose, ensuring that these scholars have the necessary financial support to continue their research work. Furthermore, an additional 3,800 research scholars studying in government colleges and universities will receive financial assistance of up to Rs 25,000. This funding is specifically intended to facilitate their participation in internships, seminars, workshops, and conferences hosted by prestigious higher educational institutions and research institutes across the country. An amount of Rs 9.50 crore has been earmarked for this purpose. tnn
