Collision: Four Killed, 14 Sustain Injuries As Bus Collides With Truck In Nagaur |
Jaipur: Four persons were killed while nearly 14 others sustained injuries in a collision between a bus and a multi-axle truck in Nagaur on Sunday.
The accident occurred just after 8.40am when a bus travelling from Kheraat village of Nagaur collided with a trailer loaded with drums that was heading in the opposite direction.
The victims were idenitfied as Mangilal (50), Hussain (41), Ramzan (22), and Sahadev Luhar (25). The police said that the victims were rushed to the hospital where doctors declared them brought dead.
The police said that excessive speed is suspected to be a probable reason behind the accident but the reasons behind the mishap could not be ascertained at this stage.
While four passengers were killed at the secne lives, 18 others suffered injuries in the road accident. The police said that four injured have been referred to Jodhpur for further medical care.
Local residents acted swiftly upon hearing the cries of the victims and provided assistance by getting them out of the bus. The police were alerted to the incident and promptly dispatched ambulances to the scene.
Numerous individuals among the injured have suffered severe injuries in the accident and are presently undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
“We have also notified the Jodhpur district administration regarding the accident. Those with grievous injuries were promptly transported to Jodhpur and are under the care of senior medical professionals.
The bodies of the deceased will be handed over to their respective families following the completion of post-mortem examinations,” stated an official. Additionally, multiple CCTV recordings are being reviewed to investigate the causes behind the accident.
