Congress: Congress Announces Rupinder Singh Kooner as Candidate for Karanpur Assembly Seat | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Congress on Thursday announced its candidate for Karanpur assembly seat of Sriganganagar district. The election for the seat was adjourned following the death of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Kooner, who was the sitting MLA. The party has fielded his son Rupinder Singh Kooner in the election.
Congress hopes to get sympathy votes on this seat, for which polling will be held on January 5.
Congress general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal issued the information in this regard on Thursday. Venugopal in a release said Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has approved Kooner’ s candidature. Former minister Surendrapal Singh TT is the BJP’s candidate. TNN
