Jaipur: Food and Civil Supplies minister and Congress city president Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, announced their plans to observe the ninth anniversary of the Modi government at the Centre with protests and the symbolic burning of effigies over failure to honour their promises. The Congress workers will burn effigies of the central government in all 250 wards of the Jaipur municipal corporations on Sunday.
During a press conference on Saturday, minister Khachariyawas stated that the nine-year rule of the BJP under Prime Minister Modi would be remembered for unprecedented price rise, poverty, and unemployment. He accused the Modi government of misleading the public with lies, fraud, and deceit, as well as instigating fear and hatred against minority communities among the majority population. The minister questioned the fulfillment of promises made by the Modi government, such as “ache din” (good days), elimination of black money, and the creation of two crore (20 million) jobs annually for the youth. He highlighted the skyrocketing prices of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas, as well as the weakening of the Indian rupee against the dollar during the Modi regime.
