Congress Leader Climbs Atop Mobile Tower To Protest In Barmer Dist | Jaipur News

JAISALMER: High-voltage drama was seen in a village in Barmer district a day before CM Ashok Gehlot’s scheduled visit to the district when a Congress leader climbed atop a mobile phone tower and stayed there for over two hours as a way of protest on Thursday.
Police said former Youth Congress president of Gudamalani assembly constituency, Mukesh Godara, climbed up a mobile phone tower at Bhimthal village.
He demanded that pattas in residential areas be given to landless families, encroachment on Oran and Gochar land at Bhimthal village be removed, and a fair probe be conducted into an attack on an RTI activist. Godara agreed to get down only after he was made to speak with forest minister Hemaram Chowdhary over phone and given an assurance that the administration would consider his demands.
“I have been pleading with the administration regarding these three demands, but no action has been taken so far on any,” said Godara. Forest minister Hemaram Chowdhary assured him of action on all his three demands in the next ten days, he added. He also said the minister has spoken to the district collector in this regard.
