Congress MLA accuses Centre & Rajasthan of passing the buck on Eastern canal project | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Congress MLA Indraj Gurjar on Wednesday said the Centre and the state were passing the buck on the ambitious Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) and demanded a day-long discussion on the project in the current assembly session.
He said people who are struggling to get drinking water will spare none in this blame game.
“The state and the Centre are passing the buck on ERCP. If we fail to provide water, the public will neither spare the BJP nor the Congress. No matter how much good work the government has done, if people do not get water, then all these work would go in vain,” he said while warning the state government.
He said, “we made good roads, hospitals, English medium schools, colleges, tehsil etc but all these will go waste if we fail to provide water,” said the MLA.
The MLA, who is said to be a Pilot loyalist, said, “Water in tubewells go try within six months after it is dug. People are struggling for water in east Rajasthan and if ERCP is not implemented, there will not be any water left for drinking in future in the 13 eastern districts.”
He said PM Narendra Modi who came to Dausa left after making a misleading statement. He asked why doesn’t both the Centre and state sit together and discuss the issue instead of passing the buck. Gurjar said people are not bothered about political parties in power, but want their basic needs to be fulfilled.
