Contractual Staff Threaten Stir Against 1/3rd Formula | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Contractual employees of the state government have demanded that their total work experience, including that of previous service, should be counted in the regularisation of their services and that the one-third formula of counting their work experience should be abolished.
Assembling on Monday under the banner Sanyunkt Samvida Mukti Morcha (SSMM), the contractual employees warned that if their demands are not fulfilled within 15 days, all the 1.10 lakh contractual employees of the state would take out a 40-km ‘Adhikaar Pedal March’ on April 25 to Saheed Smarak in Jaipur.
“We will launch a ‘mahapadao’ for an indefinite period unless our demands are met even after the Adhikaar Pedal March’. Contractual workers will organise a ‘Chetauni rally’ at all the divisional headquarters on April 10,” said SSMM president Narendra Chaudhury.
The state government said in the Budget announcements recently that contractual employees working under various departments would be regularised on a pattern similar to the selection/ promotion of officials to the rank of IAS from other services. Under this, only one-third of the work experience is counted instead of their total work experience.
“The IAS pattern of calculating our work experience should be abolished, and it should be calculated on the basis of the 1=1 year formula. The government should frame a clear policy on regularisation of our posts and do it at the earliest,” said Chaudhury.
According to a finance department official, only 10,000 contractual staff who have completed 15 years of service will be regularised in the first year.
