Jaipur: The ACB on Saturday arrested Ward 33 councillor of JMC-Heritage Umesh Sharma, along with inspector Anil Singh and constable Bhavani Singh for allegedly taking a bribeof Rs 80,000 from a complainant. The ACB revealed that a complaint was filed against Sharma by a complainant regarding the smooth progress of construction work on his property.Allegedly, Sharma along with Anil and Bhavani demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh for permitting the construction without hindrance. The Enforcement Directorate has accused Amit Katyal, who was arrested last week in connection with the ‘land for jobs’ scam, of acquiring land through his shell company on behalf of Lalu Prasad, the then railway minister. The agency alleges that the land was acquired as bribes from candidates in return for jobs in the railways. The registered address of the company is claimed to be the house belonging to Lalu Prasad and his family members. Lalu Prasad is already facing investigation by the CBI and ED in the railways job scam.
