Jaipur: A showdown between the mayor and the councillors of JMC-Greater is likely at the civic body’s house meeting on May 25, as councillors allege that public issues are not on the agenda and proposals included have not been approved by committees (finance and other committees). A total of 21 agenda items have been selected for the house meeting. Councillors say these are not related to the problems that the city’s residents are facing.
Deputy mayor Puneet Karnawat recently wrote a letter to mayor Somya Gurjar expressing displeasure over the proposals included in the agenda. Despite this meeting taking place after a long gap, issues of public interest have not been included. TNN
