Head constable, Amar Singh, said that the victims were idenitfied as Vimlesh Yadav (35), his wife Sunita (30), Ramki Devi (70) and Geeta Devi (42).
The police said that the car was completely twisted out of its shape after the accident. The truck diver, however, fled after the incident. The locals informed the police about the incident and they arrived at the scene with ambulance. The car’s passengers were taken out from the mangled heap and rushed to the hospital.
The police said that the victims were family relatives and were returning to Jaipur from Ajmer.
“The accident took place sometime shortly after 3pm. The collision was so intense that four passengers received fatal injuries. It was a very ardous task to remove them from the crushed debris of the car,” said an official. The police said that bodies of the victims will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem. The police also said that they were making efforts to ascertain the owner of the truck and identity of its driver.
