Court: Acb To Not Take Coercive Action Against Malpura Civic Body Chairperson: Court | Jaipur News

Jaipur: A single bench of Rajasthan High Court has asked the ACB investigating officer (IO) and government not to take coercive action against Malpura’s nagar palika chairperson Soniya Soni. The court also directed the ACB officer to appear before the court with the case diary and factual report on October 13
Hearing a petition filed by Soni to quash an FIR against her, Justice Vinod Kumar Bharwani on September 4 directed the officer not to take coercive action against Soni.
“The court directed the IO to interrogate Soni and appear before the court with the detailed report and case dairy,” said Deepak Chauhan, Soni’s counsel on Thursday.
Chauhan added that local body director’s preliminary inquiry and ACB’s factual report could not establish Soni’s role in corruption case.
“Despite that her suspension order was passed on June 4, 2022 by the director and joint secretary, local bodies. We later approached the HC seeking intervention. On August 24, 2022 the suspension order was set aside. Later, on October 14, 2022, the high court granted a stay on the August 24 order. This stay was vacated on January 6, 2023.”
“Thereafter when ACB submitted its report before the court they did not mention Soni’s role in the case. Later, the state government also approached the Supreme Court against the vacation of the stay which was also dismissed. Thus, we filed an application before the HC to quash the FIR and other proceedings,” Chauhan said.
