Delhi Police has an important password warning for internet users in the country. Police has shared the important warning or password tip on its official X (formerly Twitter) account. Delho Police has asked internet users not to use the same password for multiple accounts.
“Using the same password for multiple accounts can be risky. Stay one step ahead of hackers! 🚫 Avoid weak passwords and never reuse them.Reportcyber crime @ https://cybercrime.gov.in #ProtectYourBytes #CyberAwarenessMonth #CyberSafeCitizen,” posted Delhi Police. The X post is accompanied by an image that shows an internet user with the name Bhupendra Jogi using the same password for Instagram as well as GMail.

The post is accompanied by images of two newspaper clippings, in one a techie reportedly lost Rs 50 lakh in an e-scam. In the other, a retired colonel lost Rs 2.5 crore in the biggest e-task fraud.

Delhi Police has a dedicated helpline and website to report cybercrime. Internet users can report or file a complaint about cybercrime at http://cybercrime.gov.in. They can also dial 1930 to report or complain about any cybercrime.
The portal cybercrime.gov.in is an initiative of the government of India to facilitate victims/complainants to report cyber crime complaints online. The website caters to complaints pertaining to cyber crimes with special focus on cyber crimes against women and children. Complaints reported on this portal are dealt by law enforcement agencies/ police based on the information available in the complaints. It is important to provide correct and accurate details while filing complaint for prompt action. National police helpline number is 112. National women helpline number is 181 and Cyber Crime Helpline is 1930.
This portal caters all types of cyber crime complaints including complaints pertaining to online Child Pornography (CP), Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or sexually explicit content such as Rape/Gang Rape (CP/RGR) content and other cyber crimes such as mobile crimes, online and social media crimes, online financial frauds, ransomware, hacking, cryptocurrency crimes and online cyber trafficking.
The portal also provides an option of reporting an anonymous complaint for reporting online Child Pornography (CP) or sexually explicit content such as Rape/Gang Rape (RGR) content.
