Dengue Cases Cross 10k Mark In Raj, On A Downward Trend | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Dengue cases have crossed 10,000-mark in the state in 2022 as it has been spreading at a rapid pace for the past couple of months.
However, in seven days (November 11-17), the state has witnessed a downward trend. Jaipur, which was epicentre of dengue cases in the last two months, has seen a fall in dengue count.

In seven days (November 4-10), the state reported 821 cases and the city reported 299 cases. In next seven days (November 11-17), there have been 644 cases in the state and 146 cases have been reported in the city. In Jaipur, the cases have been reduced drastically as city has witnessed almost half of the cases reported (November 11-17) comparing it with the cases reported from November 4-10.
In 2022, the count of dengue cases rose to 10,526 (January 1-November 17). In 2021, the state had witnessed severe outbreak of dengue as 20,749 persons were tested positive for dengue and 96 persons had died. In terms of dengue deaths in 2021, state had topped the list of states reporting highest dengue deaths.
Country had reported 346 dengue deaths out of those 96 had died in the state. In 2022, so far, only six dengue deaths have been reported.
Dr Vijay Singh, chief medical health officer (Jaipur-I) said, “We have been conducting anti-larvae activities. Other department’s such as municipal corporation has been roped in for fighting against dengue. Dengue cases have been reducing in the city due to anti-larvae activities and winters have now arrived, which reduces chances of mosquito bite.”
The health department is keeping an eye on each dengue case as dengue has already been declared as a notifiable disease in the state. On the basis of figures collected of dengue cases, the health department and local bodies conduct anti-larvae activities.
The official said that they share dengue cases report with municipal bodies for conducting fogging in affected areas.
