Water supply in Jaipur to be affected on Thursday | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The water supply in Jaipur will experience disruptions on Thursday due to scheduled repairs by the Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) officials.
They will be fixing a leak on the main pipeline responsible for transferring drinking water from the Bisalpur Dam to the city.
“A scour wall of the main pipeline got leaked. So, we are compelled to shut down the process of water transfer from Surajpura pump house in Bisalpur to our main storage facility in Balwala in Sanganer in Jaipur from 10am to 6pm. This might affect the evening water supply in the entire Jaipur,” RC Meena, additional chief engineer of PHED, (Jaipur zone), said.
According to engineers, areas like Pratap Nagar, Sanganer, Mansarovar, Sindhi Colony, Adarsh Nagar, Malviya Nagar, Jhotwara, Shyam Nagar, Barkat Nagar and Civil Lines would be the worst affected.
There would be a partial effect on areas like Vidyadhar Nagar, Muralipura, Bani Park, Jagatpura, Ambabadi, Indira Gandhi Nagar and Khon Nagoriyon.
“Normally such repairs jobs take no less than 24-36 hours. But we are going to complete it within six to a maximum of eight hours. The morning supply would remain normal on Thursday. However, the evening supply would get affected as we would transfer at least 30 per cent of the quantity we transfer every day,” another PHED engineer said.
