Dhariwal Has Habit Of Giving False Statements, Says Min | Jaipur News

Jaipur: A day after urban development and housing (UDH) minister Shanti Dhariwal blamed the ministers and MLAs for Jaipur lagging in the smart city work, his cabinet colleague Pratap Singh Khachariyawas accused him of making “false statements” and preventing the development of Jaipur.
Speaking to the media, Khachariyawas said that Dhariwal has a “habit of giving false statements” and asserted that Jaipur is not far behind in development. “We respect Dhariwalji, but how can he say that six MLAs and ministers of Jaipur are not working for the city’s development? Dhariwalji himself has problems with other MLAs in Kota,” said Khachariyawas, the minister for food and civil supplies, adding that in Jaipur, the MLAs sit together and discuss the development of the city.
“The party has given a lot to Dhariwalji and he should not make such statements that go against the party and the government. He does not talk to MLAs Ramnarayan Meena and Bharat Singh Kundanpur in his own region of Kota. They themselves keep fighting… Here in Jaipur, the MLAs and the ministers sit together and discuss before any decision is taken,” added Khachariyawas.
Accusing Dhariwal of not having convened even a single meeting for the development of Jaipur as UDH minister, Khachariyawas said, “Dhariwal has no idea of the work being done in Jaipur even though he has the UDH portfolio. If you are in politics, you should know how to get work done. We know how to get people’s work done. This is the reason why Jaipur is still the number one city of Rajasthan.”
On Thursday, Dhariwal had said while addressing a gathering during the foundation stone laying ceremony of a Rs 180-crore sewerage project in Udaipur that Jaipur lags in the smart city projects “because there are three ministers and six MLAs” in the city.
“This is the biggest problem,” he had said.
Dhariwal had further said, “Monitoring of every work is necessary. Jaipur is a very big city, but it lags behind. Four cities—Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur and Udaipur—have been included in the list of smart cities, but Jaipur is far behind. I am in Jaipur, but I am helpless. If there were no ministers or MLAs, work would have been completed on time.”
