Divyang Body Wants Pension Hiked To ₹1,500 Per Month | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: During a pre-budget meeting with chief minister Ashok Gehlot, the Rajasthan wing of Divyang Adhikar Mahasangh demanded an increase in the pension amount for specially-abled pensioners to Rs 1,500 per month and nomination/appointment of Divyang members in the panchayati raj institutions.
It also demanded creation of a mechanism to ensure hassle-free distribution of job cards to specially-abled persons opting for MGNREGA work and 5% reservation in MGNREGA work for persons with disabilities.
The Mahasangh, headed by Hemant Bhai Goyal in Rajasthan, put forward a series of demands to be included in the state budget 2023-24. These demands were raised during the chief minister’s pre-budget meeting with the representatives of civil society groups and consumer organisations.
Goyal, who attended the meeting, also demanded to create new posts of speech therapist, audiologist and clinical psychologist.
Among the other demands, they want to fill all the vacant posts at Rehabilitation and Research Centre of SMS Hospital, to open a special ITI centre in Jaipur, to issue guidelines for the BPL scheme, to ensure 5% reservation in employment for PwDs in the private sector, opening special college for visually impaired persons, creating new posts of interpreters and ensuring friendly environment at workplaces for specially-abled officials.
