Ec Officials Meet Cs, Review Preparedness For State Polls |
Jaipur: To ensure flawless conduct of polls during the assembly elections in Rajasthan, scheduled to be held later this year, a delegation of election commission of India (ECI) officials on Friday emphasized on the need to have healthy electoral rolls, effective monitoring of EPIC distribution system, fair exercise of vulnerability mapping and effective law and order preparedness.
The officials also emphasized on seamless coordination between agencies both at state and district levels for election expenditure monitoring. In view of the upcoming assembly elections in the state, a delegation of ECI officials met chief secretary Usha Sharma on Friday. In the meeting, poll preparedness was discussed at length with additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries and secretaries of various departments such as home, personnel, revenue, IT, finance, social justice and empowerment, transport, education, rural development and panchayati raj, PWD, urban development & housing, PHED, energy and directorate of information and public relations.
Dharmendra Sharma, senior deputy election commissioner of the ECI, informed the chief secretary about the collectors-SP review meeting, law and order preparedness, facilities at the polling stations, sensitive polling stations, polling percentage and other important points regarding preparations for the state assembly elections. Other members of the delegation were Nitesh Kumar Vyas, Ajay Bhadoo, Manoj Kumar Sahoo and N N Butolia.
ECI officials expressed the need to leverage technology for elections by making maximum possible use of IT tools, social and digital media.
