Ecology: Congress Retains Bhardwaj, Sharma For Key Jaipur Seats | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Congress party has given Archana Sharma a ticket to fight from city’s Malviya Nagar for the third time, despite protests from Congressmen like Rajiv Arora, Mahesh Sharma, and Sunil Sharma. She will take on her old BJP rival Kalicharan Saraf, who had a narrow win in 2018.
Party sources said Archana Sharma led in the party surveys and no better alternative could be found for her replacement, despite losing twice from this seat.
Pushpendra Bhardwaj, who lost the Sanganer seat in 2018, has been repeated to take on BJP’s new face Bhajan Lal Sharma. The BJP replaced its sitting MLA Ashok Lahoti from Sanganer and made it a Brahmin vs Brahmin contest by fielding Bhajan Lal Sharma.
BJP veteran Ghanshyam Tiwari won thrice from the Sanganer seat as a BJP candidate. However, he had to bite the dust in the last elections after he parted ways with the saffron party. Now, it is to be seen if BJP will accommodate Lahoti on another seat in the city.
Big names like cabinet ministers Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, Lal Chand Kataria and Mahesh Joshi from Jaipur city were missing from Congress’s first list. The party has not nominated anyone from their seats so far, BJP is also yet to announce candidates for these seats.
