Ecology: Cops Seize Material Worth ₹335cr Since Oct 9 In Pre-election Swoop | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The Rajasthan Police have launched a crackdown on illegal financial activities in the run-up to the Assembly elections. As per Election Commission (EC) figures, since October 9, an astounding Rs 335 crore has been seized, marking a surge of over 476% compared to the 2018 elections.
The press statement read, “Police are now seizing assets ranging from Rs 1 crore to a staggering Rs 11 crore daily.This vast haul includes narcotics worth nearly Rs 60 crore and over Rs 20 crore in cash, gold, silver, and illegal liquor.”
In the past 24 hours, the teams have confiscated Rs 29. 81 crore. The top 14 districts where substantial seizures were Jaipur, which led with Rs 59.70 crore, followed by Udaipur at Rs 17.86 crore, Alwar with Rs 17.55 crore, Chittorgarh at Rs 15.57 crore, Jodhpur totalling Rs 14.93 crore, Bhilwara with Rs 14.46 crore, Banswara at Rs 14.40 crore, Kota accounting for Rs13.58 crore, Bikaner at Rs 12.59 crore, Nagaur with Rs 12.32 crore, Barmer totaling Rs 11.68 crore, Bundi at Rs 10.13 crore, Ganganagar reporting Rs 9.80 crore, and Hanumangarh with Rs 9.74 crore.
Police have established over 650 special checkpoints across the state, with each checkpoint assigned a unique eight-digit code, enabling real-time tracking of activities. This initiative has led to the seizure of several crores. The seizures fall into six major categories- cash, liquor, narcotics, gold, freebies, and other illicit items.
A senior police official said, “These checkpoints span inter-state, inter-district, within city areas, and important highways. Each checkpoint is supervised and monitored by an appointed in-charge.”

The Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB) has seized 40.15 quintals of powdered poppy seeds, worth approximately Rs 3 crore, from a truck on the KMP Highway in Palwal. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the seizure. The HSNCB acted on a tip-off and intercepted the truck at the KMP Toll Plaza. The seized poppy seeds are a banned substance under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. This operation is expected to provide more information about the drug trafficking network. The public is encouraged to report any drug sales to the HSNCB.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has seized drugs worth nearly Rs 250 crore. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the drugs seizure. This comes after the recent discovery of Rs 300 crore worth of drugs and the arrest of key accused Lalit Patil. Cocaine, mephedrone, and ketamine were found during the operation. The total value of the seized drugs is estimated to be more than Rs 250 crore.
