Election Fever: Election Fever in Jaipur: Loudspeakers, E-rickshaws, and Posters Ignite Poll Excitement | Jaipur News

Jaipur: As there are barely a few days left for the elections in Rajasthan for 199 seats across the state, the election fever is catching up in various areas in Jaipur.
Loudspeakers enabled auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws, vehicles having postersand flags of various political parties, while candidates are seen at every nook and corner of the city. E-rickshaw appeared to be a popular choice among the candidates for making recorded audio vote appeals in colonies and narrow lanes.
In the Walled City and other areas, e-rickshaws were seen at various areas having posters of candidates like Amin Kagzi (Congress-Hawa Mahal), Ravi Nayyar (BJP -Adarsh Nagar), Pratap Singh Khachariyawas (Congress-Civil Lines), Diya Kumari (BJP- Vidhyadhar Nagar), Gopal Sharma (BJP-Civil lines).
“We are getting Rs 700 to Rs 1,000 depending upon the hours we are hired. For half-day, we are charging Rs 700 per e-rickshaw and for full-day, we are charging Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per day. I have got an assignment for the next three days,” said Abdul Aziz, an e-rickshaw driver, who was seen at Chaura Rasta area in the Walled City.
E-rickshaw drivers said that for a normal day they earn Rs 500 to Rs 700, but this election campaign has helped them to earn almost Rs 1,500 per day. More than 1,500 e-rickshaws are hired by the political parties for the election campaign. Also, the shops at Kishanpole Bazar selling flags and posters are also doing brisk business. “There is a sudden elevation in the demand for the flags and posters of various political parties. They are taking it in a bunch of 3,000 to 5,000 pieces per day,” said Ramesh Samtani, a wholesale dealer of posters, flags and badges.
Likewise, small sound studios are also making money for preparing audio vote appeal for the candidates. “We have made it for candidates of every party and there are at least three different clips been made which are played on mounted loudspeaker on an e-rickshaw,” added Samtani.

Residents and businesses in Jaipur are calling for regulation of e-rickshaws due to their increasing numbers causing traffic congestion. The operators, many of whom are from Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, are accused of not going through the police verification process and causing disturbances to the community. However, the E-Rickshaw Association of Jaipur claims that e-rickshaws provide affordable transportation for low-income families.
Rajasthan: BJP expels Jitendra Meena for contesting election from Bassi against party’s official candidate
Jitendra Meena, former president of the Scheduled Tribe Morcha in Rajasthan, has been expelled from the BJP for contesting the upcoming state election as an independent candidate against the party’s officially declared candidate in the Bassi constituency. The BJP has fielded Chandramohan Meena, a retired IAS official, against Congress’ Laxman Meena, a former IPS official. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, and Home Minister Amit Shah will be visiting Rajasthan for election campaigns. The state will go to polls on November 25, with the results announced on December 3.
