Jaipur: The JMC Heritage (JMC-H) commissioner Rajendra Singh Shekhawat took a review meeting with officials on election preparations on Thursday. Under JMC-H around 1,000 polling stations will be set up where water tanks, furniture, ramps, partitions, toilets will be installed, and arrangements will be made for cleanliness and lighting.
Zone deputy commissioners have been instructed to ensure that all arrangements are made on time and that all public toilets should be repaired and cleaned.TNN

JMC gears up to check fire-related incidents during Diwali
Ahead of Diwali, officials from Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) are taking measures to control fire instances. Fire tenders will be placed at common locations and bike fire tenders will be deployed in smaller lanes of the Walled City. Extra water tanks will also be deployed. Inspections will be conducted to identify places where fire brigades are needed. Surveys will be conducted to check which buildings lack firefighting measures. Licenses for setting up cracker shops have been given only to those with proper firefighting measures.

New chief information commissioner, 2 commissioners likely to be appointed today
Heeralal Samariya, currently an information commissioner, is expected to be appointed as the new chief information commissioner of the Central Information Commission (CIC). Two new information commissioners, Anandi Ramalingam and V K Tiwari, are also set to be named. The appointments are likely to be administered by President Droupadi Murmu on Monday. The CIC has been without a chief for over a month and the new appointments will prevent it from becoming defunct, although it will still not be at full strength.
