Epfo: Epfo Settled 33l Cases In State In Last 4 Years | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) settled 33.38 lakh cases of employees’ provident fund (EPF), employees’ pension scheme (EPS) and employees’ deposit linked scheme (EDLI) in Rajasthan in the last four years – from 2019-20 to 2022-23, a ministry of labour and employment data revealed.
There has been an increase in the settlement of EPF, EPS and EDLI cases from 5.45 lakh in 2019-20 to 9.97 lakh in 2022-23, indicating a large number of private and government employees retiring in the state over the last four years. In 2020-21, 8.31 such cases have been settled in the state and 9.64 cases in 2021-22, informed minister of state for labour and employment Rameswar Teli while replying to an unstarred question in Lok Sabha on March 27.
“As per the paragraph 72 (7) of the EPF scheme, 1952; paragraph 17A of EPS scheme, 1995; and paragraph 24(4) of EDLI scheme, 1976, the claims, complete in all respects and submitted along with the requisite documents shall be settled and benefit amount paid to the beneficiaries within 20 days from the date of its receipt by the commissioner,” the reply stated.
“If there is any deficiency in the claim, it shall be recorded in writing and communicated to the applicant within 20 days,” it added.
