ERCP: Cong Readies Campaign In 13 Dists For Nat’l Status To Ercp | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Congress’s state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Sunday said that the party’s planned campaign in 13 districts to demand national status for the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) will start on October 16 and will be attended by several central leaders of the party.
Congress is targeting voters in 70 assembly segments in the 13 districts by accusing PM Narendra Modi of betraying his promise to 60% of the 8.1 crore population of the state.
Randhawa made the announcement after the party’s core committee meeting at the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office in Jaipur. CM Ashok Gehlot, party state president Govind Singh Dotasara, state co-in-charge Amrita Dhawan, and Virendra Singh Rathod were present in the meeting.
“By not making ERCP a national project, the central government has betrayed the people of Rajasthan. The campaign will be launched in all the 13 districts affected by the ERCP scheme,” said Randhawa while addressing the media.
Dotasra said that more crowds will come to public meetings organized by the Congress on the issue of ERCP than the crowds that came to the meetings addressed by PM Narendra Modi.
Raising the issue of a misleading picture of a farmer on campaign posters put up by the BJP, Gehlot said, “The BJP is spreading a bundle of lies. They circulated the picture of a farmer with the false claim that his land had been auctioned.”

Rajasthan to have three new districts: CM Ashok Gehlot
The Chief Minister of Rajasthan has announced the creation of three new districts in the state, namely Malpura, Sujangarh, and Kuchaman City. This decision brings the total number of districts in Rajasthan to 55. The formation of these districts was made in accordance with a high-level panel and the government will continue to address delimitation issues based on the panel’s recommendations in the future. The timing of this decision, just before the assembly polls, suggests potential political motivations.
