Jaipur: The Jaipur police on Sunday arrested a 25-year-old woman for her alleged involvement in the multi-level marketing (MLM) racket busted by the Vidyadhar Nagar police a day earlier. SHO (Vidyadhar Nagar) Dillip Khadav said that the arrested woman has been identified as Madhvi Padvekar.
The city police said that they have frozen 20 bank accounts associated with the scam and arrested 18 persons so far. A senior official who is part of the investigation informed TOI that police have learned about two persons who quit their government jobs after being lured by the promise of a grandiose lifestyle and fell victim to the dubious scam.
Police said that they had received information about a company named QNET VIHAAN, which is already banned, and its associates duping people by selling their products. “Vinod Saharan, a resident of Hanumangarh, was running the racket. He and his aides would deceive people by directly selling products of the company at inflated prices,” said an official.

A man from Chennai has been arrested by Maharashtra police for defrauding a resident of Navi Mumbai of over Rs 21 lakh. The suspect contacted the victim, claiming that the Income Tax Department was monitoring their bank account, and demanded money under the threat of arrest. The victim transferred the money to various bank accounts specified by the scammer. The police froze the accounts and traced the perpetrator to Chennai. It is suspected that others may have been involved in the fraud.
